How did we get to the point where it feels like we have to apologize for using tables or--gasp!--frames?

There are different kinds of websites and I still think that you don't need a swiss army knife just to pick your teeth. The portfolio site I'm almost done making isn't "dynamic" (in the sense of having to be updated every other day) so why should I feel guilty about not using an all-CSS php CMS?
